Dzogchen Monastery Projects
Dzogchen Monastery Temple Restoration
Why this project is so important
His Eminence Dzogchen Rinpoche firmly believes that for Tibetan culture to survive in exile and for the teachings of the Buddha to be secure for years to come, the preservation of monasteries is vital. Without monasteries there are no precious teachings.
It is the monasteries that preserve the teachings, keeping them intact, complete and authentic. Therefore this is one of the most important projects in the preservation of Tibetan culture and the Dzogchen lineage.
With adequate funding the following developments will take place:
- Three auspicious statues of Buddha Shakyamuni, Guru Rinpoche and Tara will be partially gold plated by traditional goldsmiths from the Himalaya region
- Beautifully hand carved pillars, by skilled traditional artisans, will be decorated with auspicious symbols offering protection and antidotes to obstacles
- The walls of the temple will be hand painted with the lineage of the Dzogchen Rinpoches and the life story of the Buddha

Dzogchen Monastery Monk Sponsorship Programme
Dzogchen Rinpoche is responsible for the care of 200 monks who reside at Dzogchen Monastery. The Monk Sponsorship Programme allows the monks to attend the Dzogchen Shri Senha Shedra [University] to complete a nine year course in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy. The programme also aims to support the cost of the monks’ daily needs including food, accommodation, clothing and health care.
Monk sponsorship helps sustain the unique spiritual heritage of Dzogchen Monastery and the Dzogchen lineage.
For more details on how you can be part of the sponsorship programme please visit the Gyalwa Dzogchenpa website.
